Providing treatment to patients who have geographical difficulty seeing a doctor

Providing training for healthcare professionals

In emerging regions, such as Central and South America, we have opened dialysis clinics in urban fringe areas for patients living in areas far from the urban centers so that they can receive dialysis treatment more conveniently.

We have also opened dialysis clinics in urban areas in Southeast Asia and Africa to provide high-quality treatment.

In cooperation with medical institutions in Japan, we donate dialysis machines to developing countries mainly in Asia and Africa under the NIPRO dialysis machine donation program.

NIPRO provides local healthcare personnel with technical training for apparatus operation/maintenance at NIPRO Institute for Medical Practice (iMEP) so that local medical workers can perform dialysis treatment themselves.

Prevention of medical accidents at medical institutions

To prevent medical accidents while using medical devices, we incorporate safety measures that are integrated into the product design.

We offer winged needles with a needle stick injury prevention mechanism and syringes that can be distinguished by color to prevent mix-ups. We also offer pre-filled syringes and kit formulations that can reduce the risk of foreign object contamination, bacterial contamination, and needle stick injuries; prevent medical accidents such as drug mix-ups and incorrect administration; and improve operational efficiency in the medical field.

Stable supply of antimicrobial drugs that are difficult to supply

Although antibacterial drugs are not profitable and there are concerns about the supply of their drug substances, we continue to manufacture and sell them.

In preparation for future uncertainties about the supply of drug substances, we are developing in-house drug substances for some antibacterial drugs.

Providing medical treatment environments for patients who have difficulty reaching a hospital

We sell a cloud-type patient monitoring system (NIPRO Heart Line™) that uses ICT to allow for real-time monitoring of patient information even at remote locations.

This system allows for regular and continuous medical treatment of patients with chronic diseases, sharing their vital information in real time and remotely confirming their physical condition when an alert sounds due to abnormal values.

Eyedrop container with filter (NP container)

In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to corneal disorders, allergies, and other problems in the cornea and lacrimal fluid system that may be caused the preservatives in eyedrops, there is growing demand for eyedrops that contain little or no preservative. The non-preservative multi-dose container (NP container) allows for the sterility of solution in the container to be maintained without preservatives.
NP containers are the same size as commonly used eyedroppers, so they are very small and easy to use. This universal design also focuses on nozzle visibility and bottle transparency.
The NP container won a Good Design Award 2007.
